Hi Everyone,
Thank you for sharing your kids with me for another great year of making art.  Next year is slotted to bring some exciting changes- most notably the new art room! I will be excited to see what the space looks like- I’ve seen the plans and they look great!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the kids portfolios as they came home.  The kids have been sharing the wonderful comments you made about their work, and telling me about lots of art shows that they set up for you! It is fun to see their enthusiastic faces when they describe sharing all of their art with you.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Below I’ve posted a few art related things you might like to do over the summer. A couple of them are out of your neighborhood, but may be new things for you to try.

Thanks again for another great year- we never get to everything I want to do but we have a lot of different projects planned for next year too!

-Katy

Created to Grow (Family Art Studio)  2904 Pentagon Drive.  St. Anthony, MN 55418

A family art studio owned and run by an art teacher from Columbia Heights- Ariane Kokes. She is running a wide range of art day camps, has classes and open studio times when you can go make art with your kids. There is also a playroom connected to the studio for those of you with younger kids. (it’s a breeze) My kids really enjoy going there- it’s out of your neighborhood but if you’re looking for something new to try- your kiddos who love making art would love it. https://createdtogrow.com/

Silverwood Park: 2500 County Rd E.  St. Anthony, MN 55421

For those of you who are looking to be outside walking, fishing, or building art in the woods….Silverwood Park is a fun, casual place to go. They have nice paved walking trails that have a variety of sculptures and poems along the way. It’s dog friendly too- except the small island. There is also a wooded area along one of the paths where kids can build forts etc.  They have a place to go fishing, and next door there is a beach/swimming area. There is also a beach right there- not in the park, but right next to the park. They have free family art events and art classes and also a free summer concert series.  We’ve seen deer, owls and lots of birds there. It’s a pretty park & kid friendly.   More info can be found here: https://www.threeriversparks.org/parks/silverwood-park.aspx
